Privacy policy
Last updated 30 October 2026
Chocolate is a recipe app for couples that isn't out yet. This policy covers what exists today: this website and its waitlist, our Instagram and Facebook accounts, and the tool we use to post to them and read how our posts are doing. The app will have its own policy before it launches, and it will cover cycle data, which we treat as special-category health data.
Chocolate is run by Lloyd Bizaoui, who decides how this data is used. To ask anything, get a copy of your data or have it deleted, use the form below.
What we collect
- Waitlist. Your email address and the date you joined. Nothing else: no names, no tracking.
- Privacy requests. The email address, request type and message you send with the form below.
- Our social accounts. When you follow, like, comment on or message @chocolate_app_ on Instagram or our Facebook Page, Meta processes that under its own policy. We see what those apps show any account owner, and we read totals for our own posts (views, likes, saves, shares, comments) to learn which recipes people want. We don't build profiles of the people behind them.
This website uses no analytics, no advertising tags and no cookies. The pages are served by Cloudflare, which keeps standard request logs for security.
Why
- To email you once when Chocolate launches, because you asked us to (your consent).
- To answer your privacy requests, which the law requires of us.
- To run our social accounts and make better posts (our legitimate interest).
Where it's kept and who sees it
Waitlist emails and privacy requests are stored in a Cloudflare database in Western Europe. Only Lloyd can read them. We never sell or rent personal data, and we don't share it with advertisers.
How long
Waitlist emails are kept until we've sent the launch email, then deleted unless you sign up for the app. Privacy requests are kept for 12 months after we've answered them, so we can show we did. You can ask us to delete either sooner.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, or to stop us using it. We answer within one month. If you're unhappy with our answer, you can complain to your data protection authority; in Ireland that's theData Protection Commission.
Children
Chocolate isn't for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes too. Anything that affects how we use data you've already given us, we'll tell you about first.
